Small Business Lending Totalled £796 Million
Since collecting monthly data last October, the BBA has been unpicking the net monthly changes to assess levels of new lending to small businesses.
New term lending to small businesses totalled £796 million in July. However, businesses are using their cashflow or deposits to repay loans or overdrafts and in some cases, maturing loans are not being rolled over, or elements are being written off, giving rise to a net repayment of lending in July.
